The Department of Engineering at TCU was established in 1991, under the auspices of the AddRan College of Arts and Sciences. Initial development activities occurred during the 1991-1992 academic year, and the inaugural freshman class was enrolled in the Fall 1992. The first four-year cycle of engineering courses was completed at the close of the 1995-1996 academic year, and seven seniors received the first Bachelor of Science degrees to be awarded in engineering at TCU. Since then we have grown to our current size of more than 200 students. Most of our graduates hold positions in industry at companies such as Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter, Jacobs Engineering & Schlumberger. Some of our graduates go directly to graduate school at universities including University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, and Georgia Tech.
